A year following the beginning of implementation of the GDPR, the top-five fines imposed across the European Union are presented. It is interesting how each competent Data Protection Authority approaches the relevant violations of the legislative framework, while assessing the respective aggravating or mitigating factors. The range of the fines imposed is also addressed.
