This Flash Report comments on the decisions of the Hellenic Data Protection Authority issued in September 2019 imposing fines amounting to 400.000 euros in total upon a telephone service provider. The fines were imposed in the first case, for failure of the data controller to comply with the principle of accuracy and data protection by design when keeping personal data of subscribers. In the second case, failure to satisfy the right to object of the data subjects and to safeguard the principle of data protection by design when keeping personal data of subscribers was the reason for the relevant sanction.
